Crime Stoppers in an organization that involves the public,
the media, and local law enforcement to help fight and reduce
crime. It offers cash rewards to people who furnish information
leading to the arrest and filing of criminal charges against
offenders. It allows the people who furnish information to remain
strictly anonymous.
Crime Stoppers in a non-profit organization, which is administered
by a Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is a group of
local citizens from all walks of life. This board oversees the
program, raises funds, and approves awards. |
How
does Crime Stoppers work?
The Kewaunee County Crime Stoppers Tip
Line is located in the Emergency
Communications Center at the Kewaunee County Sheriff's
Department. The tip line is a non-recorded telephone
line that is answered 24 hours a day/7 days a week. Your information
will be collected and you will then be issued a code number.
You are then advised to call back in a few days to find out
the status of the case and what kind of reward you may be
eligible for. If an arrest is made, property recovered, or
restitution is made based of the information provided by you,
arrangements are made for you to collect your reward money.
