Utilizing GPS technology inside each patrol squad, Deputies began gathering GPS coordinate data for all reported vehicle crashes in our county in 2008. With this new data, the Kewaunee County Sheriff's Department in cooperation with Steve Hansen & the Kewaunee County Land Information Office began mapping these crashes on a Kewaunee County Map. The crash data, showing the type of crash, is depicted on the map by colored dots. The Kewaunee County Sheriff's Department hopes to use this new tool to help closely monitor Kewaunee County roadways and identify areas of concern through the year.

A new map is released every month. A quarterly and yearly map is also generated. All the maps will be made available here. Crash data in this project is collected by Patrol Deputies in areas served directly by the Kewaunee County Sheriff's Department. Crashes that occur in Algoma & Kewaunee City and the Village of Luxemburg are not included in this spot map project as these areas are handled by their respective police departments.
